Dev Log#1

After our first team meeting, I completed the first version of our rulebook based on the story we decided on. I also added some weapon card ideas so we’ll have enough to test with the rules this week.
We haven’t had a chance to test if this gameplay works yet. Our next step is to test the rules with the weapon cards to see if the gameplay works as expected and then fix the rules. We also had the idea of wording the rules as an offer letter from the Secret Service. This is something we can explore later. -Zi

Hi gamers! Let me show you where we're at with the cards. I also added some weapon ideas! Here's a sneak peak at the list:
Okay, I know it's weird to put a buzzsaw as that kind of goes against the whole not using lethal weapons thing, but as I put in the comments you gotta do it Looney Tunes style. Plus, you gotta be funny when explaining your assassination attempt, and trying to hack the person (duck) to death isn't funny. As a side note, everyone's ducks! So it's already weird and wacky, so I think we're allowed to get a little toony with it. I added a section for flavor text because I thought it would be nice to include (and add some designer intended comedy in).
Next up were some draft sketches I did for the Role cards:
As you can see, option 1, the manila folder, is the most thought out while options 2 and three are based on a security badge and FBI badge respectively. Option 3 (FBI badge) did win out! I will have to get a bit creative with the back design and add a few minor details but that is what we will go forward with for the Role card design.
And next, here we have a sketch for the Item/Weapon cards:
Now you might be wondering why it says option 2? That's because I also offered the manila folder option from the role cards as a potential choice. Due to the the theme of the game and the mechanics involving players frantically grabbing cards, it made the most sense have the Item cards resemble a crumpled instead of an official document. I'm a bit picky when it comes to textures so hopefully there's a crumpled paper texture out there that will satisfy me.
Other than that, the card designs should be fairly straightforward and it'll be a simple drag and drop / copy and paste when it comes to putting info on the cards themselves. - Bradley

Art is going interestingly. I've never... drawn something as objectively funny as these are, and it's screwing with my brain something fierce. Is this too funny? Is that a thing? Also I can't turn off my dang designer brain, I'm consumed with trying to figure out how the rules will work!
The Gooseassin, seamlessly blending in.
Mr President. He was elected.
Get Down, Mr President! (it's a pun on the word down you see).
In retrospect, you can actually see me getting better at Paint as it goes from secret service duck (first), to president, to gooseassin. I guess that's just how it is. Also considering I have to draw 50-60 weapons after this, probably a good thing! I have to up my speed! A little worried about that! -Sam
